Mary Louise Gallaway
is a Texas-born artist who has lived and worked in France since 1971.

Description of the work:

My initial training at the Brooklyn Museum Art School was in painting. After dedicating myself to work in volumn for several years, I have come back to painting on flat surfaces. The subject is the world of minerals and plants. The space is delimited geometrically by squares or rectangles, areas which can be particularly scrutinised.

The materials utilised are acrylics, pastel, pencil and ink on canvas or paper.
